Starting Theory and Ruining Family

Let's look at a car crash.......I mean really look at what happens in that moment of utter disorientation and lucid awareness.  What does one think about?

Oh shit, I'm flipping upside down!
Oh fuck, my insurance is going to skyrocket!
Crap, I left the lights on at home!

The idea of understanding in a car crash (if anyone gets that reference, I consider them a friend)
Absolutely no one panics in a car crash.  Everyone knows what they have to do even though they have no actual way of controlling the situation.  In fact, I think the slowing down of time right before an impact is not the onset of shock, but rather the complete acceptance of the present; a feeling of content of what did, what has, and what will happen.

.....a car crash is what some people need..........not literally..........you know what I mean...........

Back in Seattle

So on Thursday, August 28th, I decided to leave LA for Seattle the next morning, a decision that I'm really happy I chose.  I was really nervous about the drive but once I got on the road, everything seemed to work out smoothly.  My first stop was Sonoma County where family friends let me stay at their house.  Their neighbor, Jim, owns Toad Hollow, a local winery.  Jim has become good friends with my mom and I and he was so nice to give me two cases of his wine to bring up to Seattle.  I have yet to open any of the bottles as I want to save them for when I move into my house.

Yes, that's right, I am technically homeless.  Phil's parents have graciously let me stay in their basement until my housing situation is cleared up so for the past few days I've been staying in a very nice house up on Capitol Hill.

Last night, I went to Bumbershoot and experienced one of the most insane shows ever.  Monotix hails from Israel and their on stage antics......don't even take place on stage.  The band actually plays in the crowd: drum kit and all.  The lead singer in a trash can, the guitarist playing on top of the crowd!  Insane stuff!  The crappy part is, they only got to play for ten minutes as the bumbershoot security shut down their show due to the amount of insanity taking place.

Radiohead, Sondre Lerche, and The Sylvs

So, coming back to Los Angeles from Paris was quite an interesting shock as, I was actually looking forward to be back in my home town.  I came back to a nice house and new kitchen that is finally finished, (I can cook!!!) and three messages:

1) Zarah, called me to help her out at the Jamie Cullum show passing out flyers and annoying people to sign up for the mailing list.  Ironically, I paid for my ticket to the show to find out that she had three extra seats. (wasted $40 :(
2) An amazing friend an exceptional songwriter, notified me of her staying at my house for a few days while she starts her tour with Sondre Lerche.  Not only did I get to hang out with an old friend and go to her show,  I got to meet one of my favorite artists: Sondre!  He's extremely nice and very friendly.
3) One of my best friends in LA called me to say he's taking me to see Radiohead at the Hollywood Bowl.  Let's just say that the show blew my mind out of the water!

Now that all of those events are finished, I feel it's time for me to move on to where I belong:  I am itching to get back up to Seattle.  Right now, I am homeless as I was stupid enough to not secure a place before I left for Europe but hopefully I can find a place before school starts.

Oh yeah.....Go see Hamlet 2......it's hilarious from beginning to end and better than Hamlet 1 ;)

Shpongle.......what?!? exactly what I said: Shpongle

A very nice and beautiful polish girl gave the name of this very interesting group from the UK.  I was deterred by the complete audacious and randomness of their name but Shpongle has kept me entranced for the past two days.  Their groove and electronic style is blended with african and jungle beats.  The source of their influence is just as random as the songs themselves, each one carrying it's own weight and own feel.  Any music lover should give these guys a listen.

He treats a broken heart like the bills he gets in the mail
Depressing yet Imperative
He Keeps going, bringing each blow and each bruise onto pen and paper
and all he wants is more
Not happiness, not sadness, just more
Provide him with reasons to destroy his lack of barriers
because in the end,
He'd rather fall a thousand times on to rusted spikes
Than be a brick wall

I fell in love today...

Not necessarily true love, certainly not
But the kind of love that makes you stop in your tracks, pushes down on your lungs until all air is expelled.
The kind of love that makes your knees go weak
The kind of love that makes you fall to the floor, crawling for the bathroom to extract al impurities from your body to makes yourself ready for the pain and pleasure of the endless games, flirting and romance
The kind of love that makes you rob a bank or kill someone just to prove your worth
The kind of love that defies all reason and previous scientific theories
The kind of love that destroys cities, brings on blight, drought, and famine
The kind of love that bring judgment day
I fell in love today
Not necessarily true love, certainly not

The Beginning

The Beginning:

This stint is over.  A new page is turned to reveal a blank canvas.  I'm writing again and this time, it's going to be public.  Hopefully, I will be able to keep this up.  Coming back from a month in Paris, I've noticed many things about myself and the people around me.  I can't really describe it but it's something different, something new, something exciting.  So here it goes...I'm going to embrace my inner emo (we all have it) start pouring onto this thing... whatever this is.
